Hello Dr. I'm 25 female who lives in Seoul.
I cut myself about year and half ago, and because of that,
I end up getting scars on my arm.
I have 7 straight lines on my left lower arm.
(6 of them are about 4~6cm, and one is about 18~20cm)
I guess I'll be your #1 patient with so many scars T..T

I'm getting so much stress now days, because I can not wear
short sleeves because of my scars, and can you imagine going
to the office every morning with the long sleeves on?
So far, I can see people walking around with thin long sleeves
but soon or later probably i'll be the only one who wears long sleeves. I did concerned about it last summer, but since
i was a freelancer, almost everyday i stayed home during the
day time. But now I can't do that anymore.

I read the lines about removing scars in four different ways
1. 흉터 부위를 잘라낸 뒤 정상피부가 당겨 봉합하는 것이다. 이 방법은 흉터 부위가 별로 넓지 않을 때 이용된다.

2. 상처 부위를 벗겨내어 새 살을 돋게 만드는 것이다. 상처가 옅고 넓을 때 이용되는 것으로 필링이나 기계적 박피가 이 방법이다.

3. 흉터 부위에 정상적인 피부를 이식하는 것으로서 화상이나 사고 등으로 흉터 부위가 넓을 때 흉터가 당기거나 관절 운동에 지장이 있을 때나 이용된다.

4. 정상 피부를 늘여서 흉터 부위를 덮는 것인데 조직확장기라고 부르는 특수기구를 이용하는 것이다.

I know I have to go for check up first in order to hear
something from you (about my scars and surgery),
but can you tell me how long does it last for the surgery,
and how the surgery is, and how much it approximately cost?
My father is a doctor who lives in the states,
and he told me that it's quite hard to answer when patients
just ask him about the price through e-mail.
But since I told you how long my scars are,
would you give me some price range when I have surgery #1,2,3, or 4?
And would you please be detail about the surgery?

I did made a big mistake of my life trying to kill myself by cutting my arm. I know, and I regret very much, but ever since I'm getting so depressed and stressed out about this, I'm afraid I might be so depressed and make the same mistake again.

This is my first time asking someone for help about this,
and I hope you can be the one who can help me to be free
from my mental stress and depression.

팔에 여러개의 흉터가 있어서 고민이시겠습니다.
흉터 성형은 나열하신 것처럼 여러가지 방법이 있지만 모든 흉터가 이런 방법을 모두 다 적용할 수 있어서 이중에서 원하는데로 선택할 수 있는 것은 아니며
흉터의 종류에 따라서 적용되기도 하고 안되는 방법도 있습니다.
지금 올리신 글로 봐서는 팔이 여러줄의 흉터가 있는 것이고 이런 경우에는

(#2. 상처 부위를 벗겨내어 새 살을 돋게 만드는 것이다. 상처가 옅고 넓을 때 이용되는 것으로 필링이나 기계적 박피가 이 방법이다.
#3. 흉터 부위에 정상적인 피부를 이식하는 것으로서 화상이나 사고 등으로 흉터 부위가 넓을 때 흉터가 당기거나 관절 운동에 지장이 있을 때나 이용된다. )
의 두가지 방법은 적용하기 힘들 것입니다.

대부분 그런 흉터는 (#1. 흉터 부위를 잘라낸 뒤 정상피부가 당겨 봉합하는 것이다. 이 방법은 흉터 부위가 별로 넓지 않을 때 이용된다. )의 방법이 적용이 가능하지만 흉터가 많이 넓어진 선모양이지 않다면 역시 적용하기는 쉽지 않습니다.
그 여러개의 흉터들이 한군데에 몰려 있다면 전체적으로 피부를 절제하고 (#4. 정상 피부를 늘여서 흉터 부위를 덮는 것인데 조직확장기라고 부르는 특수기구를 이용하는 것이다. )의 방법을 적용하는 것을 고려해 볼수 있지만 이 역시 쉽지 않을 수 있으며 수술 자국이 남게 됩니다.

죄송하지만 직접 흉터의 상태와 위치를 확인한 후에 수술이 가능한지 말씀드려야 할 것 같군요.
